SuperGlue to Replace CCCApply Download Client by 2023

June 2, 2022

Students outside the Student Services Center, San Diego Mesa College campusA change is coming to the delivery of student application data collected in the systemwide application for admission to the California Community Colleges, with the CCCApply download client being phased out.

The download client will still be available to colleges but access to any new data fields added after June 30 will require SuperGlue integration. Colleges will have a full year to transition to SuperGlue before the download client is taken permanently offline July 1, 2023.

On June 9, the California Community Colleges Technology Center will host a webinar to discuss the phase-out plan and how colleges can transition to data delivery via SuperGlue. Zoom participation information is available in the Statewide CCCTC Meetings Calendar, which can be accessed through your Technology Center Gmail account.

SuperGlue is an integration framework developed by the Technology Center that provides a secure means for real-time data exchange between systemwide products and the colleges that use them. A key objective is to integrate all Chancellor’s Office-sponsored technology initiatives without putting an additional burden on local college IT departments.

One immediate benefit of SuperGlue is enrollment fraud mitigation. By enabling colleges and the system to share application data back and forth, when one college identifies a fraudulent enrollment, all colleges can be protected.

SuperGlue has been securely delivering data directly to colleges since 2017. In 2018, it began real-time delivery of CCCApply records to a staging table in local Student Information Systems via the SuperGlue College Adaptor. Several colleges have already successfully implemented this capability and have phased out their download client.

With support from the Technology Center Enabling Services team, SuperGlue implementation takes an average of eight hours of local college effort.
