Workshops are designed to assist educators and professionals to use current technology to reach today’s students. Workshops, including lunch each day, cost just $75-100. Continuing education credit for professional development is also available for an additional cost of $130 for 2 units through Fresno Pacific University.

"The institutes bring together practitioners from all around the state, fostering a dynamic, hands-on learning experience. Immersed in learning activities, the participants produce personal and valuable learning products while incorporating community college recognized, effective practices," Micah Orloff, Educational Project Coordinator for the @ONE Project said. "Both as a participant and facilitator, I Greg Breyer, winner of last year's
Summer Institutes drawing.have been blown away by the valuable knowledge and skills attained as well as the learning resources and networking that I experience during and as a result of these events."

William Doherty, Director of @ONE said,"There are two great things about our @ONE Institutes. First, they are taught by California Community Colleges (CCC) faculty and staff who understand the CCC students and what is needed in the classroom. The instruction is practical, focused and in tune with what is happening on the campuses. Second, the participants actually produce something in the workshops that they can use right away in their instruction. So, the participants not only learn new tools, techniques and approaches but they apply these to create a product that represents this learning and can be used immediately. A lot happens in three days!"

Lenora Pinkston at @ONE said," The institutes are a wonderful resort to get away from the classroom, the phone, the email and other distractions to concentrate on learning a new skill or starting a project that you can actually use in instruction. With each institute, we offer our core courses for online instruction, and training on how to use cutting edge technology to assist learning in the classroom. All this and lunch is included too. @ONE provides training both online and in-person to be accessible to all kinds of learners and all levels of technology users. The Institutes serve a unique group of educators who want concentrated three or four day subject immersion and our tactile learners who need an instructor’s and a classroom’s touch."

Through conducting a survey for feedback on their Summer Institutes, @ONE has received positive reviews from CCC instructors and students in attendance.

A course at last year's Summer Institute.“I particularly liked how Donna Eyestone actually utilized the vodcasting tools as a teacher herself. She was not merely an expert who could showcase her vodcasting knowledge, she spoke to how the tools could enhance the educational experiences of the students and even provided examples for how she and her colleagues used them,” one instructor said.

A student who attended wrote,” "Let me just use this opportunity to thank you, Micah, and the entire @ONE team for offering this course in particular, and all the many other courses you offer. I would hate to think of how difficult it would be to get such valuable training if it weren’t for @ONE. I love being able to refer faculty to your courses. It's a wonderful service you offer."

"I also want to share with you how much I enjoyed the winter institute here at CRC. Not only was it nice to see Bill, Micah, and Lenora in person; it was an excellent workshop--I took Micah's Camtasia workshop,” another student related. <>
