New User Support Information for CCC Students & Staff

February 4, 2021

technical supportFollowing the migration of California Community Colleges Technology Center online support sites to the Vanilla Forums platform, the Enabling Services team has published a new set of user guides and “how to” quick-start pages.

The new documentation, available in the College Support Services space in Confluence, is part of an effort to create information and materials that support our colleges and the success of our students, with guides aimed at existing support users as well as new, first-time users.

Tech Center online support communities for students and staff were transitioned to Vanilla Forums in August 2020. Chosen for its comparable features and functionality, Vanilla Forums also offered additional features such as social media integration and add-ons for polling, gaming, and more.

Support Site User Guides

The comprehensive online guides provide general overview, account registration, and basic user information for CCCHelp.info — our student-focused support site — and CCCTechnology.info — the online community for CCC college staff and faculty.

CCCTechnology.info: Online Support Community Guide is geared for staff and faculty with steps to register for an account, set up notification preferences, and general user basics.

CCCHelp Online Community-Based Support for Students provides students and parents the basic information needed for account registration, profile editing, and setting up notification preferences.

Both guides include a short Table of Contents at the top, allowing internal Enabling Services, Support, and other staff to share heading links to sections in correspondence to users.

Best Practice Tips

In addition to the more comprehensive user guides, “how to” suggestions and best practives for reporting issues and requesting technical support were created for both the CCCHelp (students) and CCCTechnology (staff & faculty) support sites.

All of the new documentation is available for external and internal access. If you have feedback about the new user documentation, or additional internal/external materials that would both highlight our products and services and benefit our colleges and students, please contact Patty Donohue, Enabling Services, at This email address is being protected from spambots.
