Grants Office LogoIn September, the Grants Office website offered a Grantwriting Edition webcast conducted by Dan Casion and entitled “Bringing IT Home." The webcast is available free, though registration is required.

This archived audio webcast is one hour and three minutes long. In the first half hour, Dan Caison talks about general, good grant-making strategies. At the half hour point, he begins discussing IT grant funding for about 15 minutes. He is a very thorough and knowledgeable authority on grant writing, and even I learned something new. If you have some spare time, please check out this audio webcast. I am sure you will find it not only provocative but also entertaining.

Converge Magazing logo. Also of interest for grant seekers is Converge Magazine, which has a series of Thought Leadership Papers. One in particular is quite interesting:

Mobile Learning: What it Takes, How to Get There
Thinking about bringing mobile learning to your campus? This Thought Leadership Paper discusses the technology elements of mobile learning for K-12 and higher education institutions, and provides insight on funding for technology investments.

To access this paper, you will need to register with Converge but the insights it provides are well worth it. Page seven of this paper has information on foundations and possible grants that consider mobile learning support for projects, including these two among several others:

These are two excellent sources for grant funding. I would encourage you to take the time and explore the possibilities presented here.<>
